Puffy have come out with several books throughout their career filled with information,
interviews and pictures of the group. With the partial exception of their Japanese/English
phrasebook "Hi Hi Puffy English" they have all been printed in Japanese.
This is the book companion to their 1997 visit to the US (see also
Run! Puffy! Run! DVD). It's filled with pictures and
details of the day to day events of their trip. The book includes a comic called "Puffy Comix"
drawn by Ami. The book is 160 pages at 26 x 18 1/2 cm.
"Puffy" was published on October 1, 1997. It appears to document in part Ami and Yumi's
early years before becoming Puffy. The subtitle reads "Ami & Yumi no ii kanji densetsu" which
means something like "The happy legend of Ami and Yumi." More info to come.
This 1999 book includes transcripts from three 180 minute long interviews with Ami, Yumi
and the two together. It also contains many color and black and white pictures.
The book is 195 pages at 15 x 21 cm.
Published in 2000 this book covers Puffy's early career. It includes many pictures and interviews.
While the book itself is entirely in Japanese, the subtitle says (in slightly
strained English): "Puffy is the couple known by everybody in all over Japan. But it doesn't mean that
we know how they feel. If you take a look inside, you maybe find [WHAT IS PUFFY]."
The book is 190 pages at 19 1/2 x 19 1/2 cm.
This magazine-sized picture book contains dozens of full size pictures of Ami and Yumi.
Also included are two interviews with Ami and Yumi, a Puffy history timeline and
a catalogue of Puffy Merchandise. The book is 106 pages at 21 x 28 cm.
Puffy have come out with three companion books to their TV show
Pa Pa Pa Pa Puffy. They contain hundreds of
pictures from their show and interviews with dozens of Japanese celebrities.
The books are 176, 180 and 208 pages at 13 x 19 cm.
Ami and Yumi show their creative versatility with this 2002 storybook. Ami drew
the comics while Yumi wrote the story. More to come.
As the cover says "We have our own English Book!" This is a Japanese/English language
book tie-in with their 2005-2006 radio show
The small book contains 232 English phrases translated into Japanese. The book is
60 pages at 4cm by 7cm.
Released on March 24, 2006, this book was part of Puffy's ten year anniversary promotion.
It includes long interviews, many pictures, a manga, discography and Official Goods section.
Also includes a special picture section (that requires you to cut with scissors to see!).
It has some rare personal shots of Ami and Yumi, including Yumi in her "coming of age"
kimono and a pregnant Ami. The book is 224 pages at 6cm by 7 1/2cm.
