Puffy once again draws on the talents of Anders Hellgren & David Myhr of the Merrymakers for this dynamic new song. It was released as a single in Japan with Oh Edo Nagareboshi IV and Kimi ga Suki on July 18, 2007. It can be ordered at CD Japan and Yes Asia. The song was also featured on the album Honeycreeper.

The tune was featured in a 2007 commercial for the Japanese fashion school Mode Gakuen. YouTube has (or had) the commercial for viewing here.

In an interview with Andrew (your webmaster) David said: "Boom Boom Beat was born out of a request for a commercial. It was at the end of mixing Otomemoriaru which had been going on for weeks and suddenly they needed a song more or less within a day. So Anders sat behind the drums and I picked up a guitar and this riff came up and a few hours later the demo was finished. It was a very spontaneous thing. But as always the real recording and mixing is the hard work and that took a little bit more time to finish. We just saw the video on You Tube for this one we think it looks really cool!"

In the hard rocking music video Ami and Yumi sing and dance surrounded by a menagerie of long haired musicians.
